Cheaper Home Batteries Rebate: around 30% off your Powerwall 3, taken straight off the invoice.
Tesla Solar Battery Storage, Installed by Brisbane Electricians
Tesla makes one home battery for the Australian market, and it does the job of two products. The Powerwall 3 carries its solar inverter inside the same enclosure, so a single wall-mounted unit converts your solar energy and stores whatever you don’t use during the day.
A Tesla solar battery is efficient and a great buy for houses in Queensland that receive lots of sun. It also gives you protection against blackouts, so it’s great for rural houses and stormy weather. Get Tesla battery installation today in Brisbane with licensed solar installers (QLD Electrical License #72286), and we’ll apply the federal battery rebate as an upfront discount rather than a form you chase later.
Tell us what you’re paying now and we’ll show you what a Powerwall 3 changes.

Who It's Best For
Buy a Tesla Powerwall 3 battery to get high-efficiency power. It’s especially great if your property fits in any of the following:
High-Energy Households
Ducted cooling, the oven, and the pool filter can all be going at once without the battery backing off.
Storm-Season Properties
Automatic charging ahead of forecast severe weather, so you can go into a blackout with a full battery.
Growing Households
Add expansion units later instead of buying all the storage you might need on day one.
New Solar and Battery Builds
The built-in inverter removes a separate box, a separate warranty, and a chunk of the install cost.
Tesla Powerwall 3
The Powerwall 3 stores 13.5kWh of usable energy and comes in three output configurations, the largest delivering up to 11.04kW. At the top configuration, this marks the difference between a battery that keeps the fridge and a few lights going, and one that runs the house more or less as normal while the rest of the street sits in the dark.
It can start motor loads that use up to 185 locked rotor amps, which is the specification that decides whether your air conditioner will actually kick in on battery power. It mounts on a wall or stands on the floor, accepts a further three storage units behind it, and carries a 10-year Tesla warranty.

Tesla Powerwall 3 Review
The Powerwall 3 performs very well and is an excellent option for those who don’t mind spending a little extra. It’s a top-of-the-range product with high energy efficiency and power output. Plus, its simple setup and in-app management for property owners, and the fact that you can add extension units later, means you get more control and peace of mind over your solar energy system, all while reducing your energy bills over the long term.
- One unit to mount, one warranty to administer, and one app to learn
- Enough output to carry the whole house rather than a handful of nominated circuits
- Eligible for the federal battery rebate, which we deduct on your invoice
- Tops itself up automatically when a storm is on the forecast
- Room to add storage later without replacing what you've already bought

Tesla Powerwall 3 Features and Benefits
Power and Performance
- Up to 11.04kW of output, enough to carry cooling and cooking together rather than shedding load
- 13.5kWh usable capacity, which covers the evening and overnight draw of a typical family home
- The inverter lives inside the battery, so there's no second box on the wall and no second point of failure
Backup and Storm Protection
- The lights stay on through an outage, with the Backup Gateway handling the switchover
- Charges to maximum capacity automatically when severe weather is forecast
- Which circuits stay live comes down to switchboard design, which we work through at the site visit
Savings and Control
- Holds the daytime surplus you'd otherwise sell back at a token rate, then spends it during peak pricing
- Time-based control lets you buy grid power when it's cheap and hold your stored energy for when it isn't
- One app for solar generation, battery charge, and household consumption
Design and Durability
- Rated indoor and outdoor, IP55 across the enclosure and IP67 over the battery itself
- Operates from -20°C to 50°C, and we'll advise on placement so summer heat doesn't cost you output
- Add up to three expansion units behind it when you want more storage rather than more power

How Much Does a Tesla Powerwall 3 Cost in Australia?
Installed Powerwall 3 systems in Australia generally land between $13,500 and $16,500 before the federal rebate, and closer to $10,000 to $13,000 after it. Those are market estimates rather than a quote. What you actually pay depends on four things, and any installer who prices your home without looking at them is guessing.
- Your switchboard. Boards installed a couple of decades ago often need bringing up to standard first, and that work sits on top of the battery price.
- The power supply at your property. Larger homes often have the heavier connection used for workshops and big appliances, and wiring a battery into one of those takes more labour.
- The scope of your backup. Carrying a few essential circuits through an outage is cheaper than carrying every room.
- Install complexity. Where the unit is mounted, how far the cable has to run, and the state of your existing array all move the number.
Volteam itemises every quote line by line, and the 30-Day Price Beat Guarantee sits behind it. If you want to model the savings against your own bill first, start with our solar savings calculator.

Pros & Cons
What we tell customers before they sign, including the parts Tesla doesn’t lead with.
Pros
One enclosure instead of a battery plus a separate inverter
Up to 11.04kW output, high enough for whole-home backup in many houses
Handles a 185 locked rotor amp motor start, so the air conditioner comes on during an outage
Pre-charges ahead of forecast storms
Takes up to three expansion units, adding 40.5kWh without a second battery
10-year warranty with 70% capacity retention, and unlimited cycles on normal home use
Cons
Expansion units add storage but not power, because they run through the main unit's inverter
Rated to 50°C, but Tesla notes performance can be reduced above 40°C, which is worth planning for on a west-facing Queensland wall
Leave it off the internet for an extended period and Tesla only guarantees four years of the ten
Whole-home backup isn't automatic, it depends on how your switchboard and circuits are designed
Only one capacity is offered, so homes needing less than 13.5kWh can't buy a smaller version
Still Weighing Up the Trade-Offs?
Those caveats land differently depending on your switchboard, your roof, and how much you draw after dark. Tell us about your place and we’ll say plainly whether the Powerwall 3 is the right battery for it.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much does a Tesla Powerwall 3 cost in Australia?
Most homes land somewhere in the mid-teens of thousands once the battery is in and commissioned, and the federal rebate pulls a few thousand off that. What moves you up or down that range is your switchboard, the type of supply coming into the property, and how many circuits you want live during an outage. The cost section above sets out the current ranges.
Does the Cheaper Home Batteries rebate apply to the Powerwall 3?
Yes. Roughly 30% comes off the purchase price of a qualifying battery under the federal scheme, funded by certificates your installer trades on your behalf. We deduct it on the invoice, so no claim form ever reaches you. Two things worth knowing: the scheme moved to a tiered structure on 1 May 2026 and shrinks from here, and Queensland runs no battery rebate of its own, whatever you may read elsewhere.
Can I add more storage to a Powerwall 3 later?
Yes. Expansion packs add 13.5kWh each and you can fit up to three per Powerwall 3, taking you to 54kWh in total. They're battery-only units, so they increase how long you can run but not how much power you can draw at once.
Will a Powerwall 3 work with solar panels I already have?
Usually. Since the conversion hardware already sits inside the Powerwall 3, the neatest result comes from running your panels through it, which can mean retiring the inverter you have. We check the array and the existing gear at the site visit and tell you which approach makes sense before you commit.
Should I be looking at the Powerwall 2 instead?
For a new installation, no. The Powerwall 3 is the model we fit. Having the inverter inside the unit means fewer components to buy and mount when panels and storage are going in at the same time. If you already own a Powerwall 2 it keeps running and keeps its warranty. We install and service every major battery brand sold here if the Tesla isn't the right fit for your home.
How long does a Powerwall 3 installation take?
Most single-battery installs are a one-day job. Allow a second day if the board needs bringing up to standard, or if the cable has an awkward path to take. We confirm the timeframe in your quote so you're not guessing.
Get Your Powerwall 3 Price Before the Rebate Shrinks
The federal discount steps down as the scheme winds back, so the same installation costs more the longer it waits. We’ll price your home line by line, apply the rebate on the invoice, and back it with our 30-Day Price Beat Guarantee.
