Energy Efficiency Solutions

You can start making a change by replacing standard globes and halogen down lights with new Compact Fluorescent Lamps (CFL's) or Light Emitting Diode (LED) fixtures. We can help you make the right decision when it comes to selecting the correct fitting for the purpose.

As lamps from these technologies are becoming more common, so are the cheaper, lesser quality fittings. Whilst we are happy to install your own supplied fittings, we are able to supply, in many cases, a superior fitting which delivers better performance in energy consumption and light output, often resulting in a reduced number of fittings required compared to using a "low cost" alternative. These fittings are designed to last 100,000's of hours and we can help you make the right decision from the beginning.

Things to consider when changing to energy efficient lighting include:

  1. Are dimmers used to control the lights?
  2. How much light is actually required?
  3. Where does the light need to be?
  4. What is the purpose for the lighting? Mood or task for example.

Of course, changing lamps isn't the only way to be greener. Installing a Solar Power System, using appliances such as Air Conditioning units with greater Energy Star ratings and Connecting your hot water system to off-peak can significantly reduce your power bills and reduce those harmful greenhouse gas emissions.
